Arsenal now have Ramsdale, Leno believed to be pulling out soon

Bernd Leno has lost his status as Arsenal's main goalkeeper. To that end, Gunners legend David Seaman is very confident Leno will soon leave the club.

Leno joined Arsenal in 2018 from Bayer Leverkusen. The German goalkeeper then became the first choice under the Gunners' crossbar.

However, Leno's fortunes changed after Arsenal signed Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in the summer. Leno now spends a lot of time on the bench.

This season, Leno has appeared in just five games for Arsenal. He has scored nine goals in that performance.

Leno Is About to Go

Seaman is confident Leno is unhappy with his role as a back-up goalkeeper after being first choice under the bar for several seasons. To that end, Seaman could see Leno's departure in the upcoming transfer window.

"Ideally you want a number one goalkeeper like Ramsdale and then a number two goalkeeper who is really experienced on the bench and doesn't be negative around the dressing room because he's not playing," Seaman said on the Seaman Says podcast.

"It will be interesting in the summer or even in the January transfer window about what happened with Leno because I'm sure he wouldn't be happy not to play after being number one for a long time."

Leno's replacement

Seaman also believes veteran Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster would be the perfect player to replace Leno as the number two option under arsenal's crossbar.

"Yes, it would be a perfect fit and would be a perfect fit for Ben because he wouldn't have to travel too far."

"It's about 20 yards up the next pitch because the training ground is so close together.

"But that's what I mean, someone like that who has all the experience and has been playing for a long time. He's nearing the end of his career, he knows that and a club like Arsenal would suit him perfectly."
